Ace all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will play for Warwickshire in County Cricket in the United Kingdom. The prolific Bangladesh all-rounder has got proposal to play in the one-day format of the ‘Super League’ of County Cricket for Warwickshire. Mehidy Hasan Miraz confirmed this matter on Sunday.
A good number of cricketers of Bangladesh took part in the County Cricket. The prestigious cricket tournament usually held at the different regions of the United Kingdom.
Earlier, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman played for Sussex in the County Cricket in 2016. And it was the last season that a Bangladesh cricketer played in the county cricket.
It may be mentioned that Jake Lintott of England played for Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the recently concluded Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Mehidy Hasan Miraz also played in the same team in the ongoing DPL. Jake Lintott recommended for Mehidy Hasan Miraz to play in the Warwickshire. Then, Warwickshire officially proposed Mehidy Hasan Miraz to play for that team.
Miraz said, ” I have got a proposal from Warwickshire. They want to pick me to play in the one-day format of the ‘Super League’ of the County Cricket. I am also interested to play for Warwickshire. The ‘Super League’ will be held in August. If I get the opportunity and if there is no schedule of Bangladesh National Cricket team, I shall go to United Kingdom to play some matches for Warwickshire.”
The right-arm spinner said, ” Jake Lintott told me to play in the County Cricket when he was staying in Dhaka to play for Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in DPL. I also showed my interest. I have heard about County Cricket for so many times. I have got opportunity this time. I shall acknowledge the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). As the ‘ Super League’ of County Cricket will be held in 50-over format, the BCB will not forbid me to take part in the tournament.”
” I want to play in County Cricket to develop my performance. The participating clubs of County Cricket give the match fee game after game. I don’t think about money. I have heard from my teammates that if anyone gets opportunity to play in the County Cricket, he can build up his performance. The environment, wickets and conditions are different and good for game. So, I’m eager to go there. If my fate favours me, I shall play some matches for Warwickshire in County Cricket, he added.
