6 receive bullet injury in AL infighting in Pabna

At least 10 people were injured in a clash erupted between two groups of the ruling party Awami League (AL) in Pabna.
Of the wounded, six sustained bullet injuries. The incident took place at Charbangaria village of Hemayetpur union of the district sadar.

Six bullet injured are: Habu Sardar, 50, Mamun Hossain, 30, Salim Mandol, 40, Sabirul Sheikh, 40, Hamim Hossain,12, and Ishak Pramanik. All, residents of Charbangaria village, were admitted to Pabna general hospital for treatment.
According to the witnesses, an extended meeting of union’s 7, 8 and 9 No ward Awami League (AL) was held on Monday evening. An argument broke out between the ward No 7 AL president Noju Mondol and general secretary Anisur Rahman over delivering speeches in the meeting. At that time, both groups threatened each other.
Later on Tuesday around 12:00 pm, the followers of Anisur Rahman were chatting at a tea stall at Mujib Bandh area of the village. At that time, the supporters of Noju Mondol came to the place, triggering a clash between both groups. At a stage, they exchanged fire between them, leaving 10 injured, including six bullet-hit. Later the local took the six injured to Pabna General Hospital for treatment.
The Officer-in-Charge of sadar police station Kripa Sindu Bala corroborated the veracity of the clash and said upon hearing the news, they deployed additional police forces to the village to evade further tension.
