Minister warns of tough punishment if rumours are spread

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said there is no chance of question paper leaks in the SSC and equivalent examinations which started on Sunday, before issuing a warning that if anyone is caught spreading rumours about the exams or question leaks, they will receive severe punishment, reports media.

She was speaking to reporters on Sunday while visiting Badda High School on the first day of the SSC examinations.

The education minister said: “Social media is being monitored all the time to prevent rumours about question paper leaks. Wherever there is a disturbance, some people are trying to spread rumours. If something happens immediate action is being taken.”

When asked if there were any problems because of the students taking the exams on a revised syllabus, the education minister replied: “The revision was done for some particular subjects, not for the entire book. We asked teachers to teach them later. This time, since the method of taking the exam is different, I hope there will not be any difficulties.”

Before the Covid pandemic, the SSC exams usually started in February every year. But last, year due to the coronavirus and floods, the exam was delayed by seven months. This year the examination started on the last day of April as the situation was normal.
