Hotelier electrocuted in Kuakata

A hotelier named Farooq Akon (50) died due to electrocution at Kuakata tourist spot under coastal Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district.
The incident happened at Kuakata Rakhine Market around 9:00 pm on Tuesday night. Local ward councilor Shaheed Dewan confirmed the matter.
Farooq is the son of deceased Sobhan Akan of Bahadurpur of Bakerganj upazila of Barishal.
He was temporarily living in Kuakata a few years ago for business work.
Eyewitnesses said that in the night, he was electrocuted while doing washing and clearing dusts at his hotel called Randhuni Hotel and Restaurant.
He was rescued and taken to Kuakata 20-bed hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohipur police station Abul Khair on Wednesday said, the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information.
Till this report no case was lodged in this connection.
