Late professor’s wife murdered in Ishwardi

Late Professor Mohammad Habibullah’s wife was murdered in Ishwardi. On Monday (April 3) afternoon, the body of Hajera Khatun (76), the wife of a former professor of Rajshahi College, was recovered in a bloody condition at the junction area adjacent to Baghail Golabari (EPZ) of Pakshi Union. She is the sister of Pakshi Union Awami League president and former UP chairman, heroic freedom fighter Habibul Islam Habbul. At around 5:30 in the afternoon, the neighbors broke the lock of the house and found the body and informed the police. On Tuesday (April 4) post-mortem, she was buried next to her husband’s grave in the family graveyard.
It is known that among the 3 sons and 4 daughters of the deceased Hajera Khatun, 2 daughters live abroad and the others live in Dhaka. The deceased Hazera Khatun used to stay alone at times in her house in Dhaka and Ishwardi.
Habibul Islam Habbul, the brother of the deceased said, after receiving a call from his nieces from Dhaka, he came after the Maghrib prayer and saw his sister lying in a bloody state. The cupboards in the room are open and the clothes are scattered. Boys and girls have come from Dhaka. Badachar’s body was buried after post-mortem. I don’t understand why my sister was killed.
Ishwardi Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami confirmed the recovery of Hazera Khatun’s body in a bloody state and said that the police crime team came and collected important evidence to recover the body at night. Head injury marks were found in Surathal, but details will be known in the post-mortem report. Stating that the closets of the house were open and clothes were scattered, he further said that a team of police has reached the ground to find out the reason for the murder and arrest the accused.
