The lone Test cricket match between Bangladesh and Ireland will start at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. The game begins at 10.00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live.
Both teams have not played any Test match yet.
Prolific all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, ” All teams try to play aggressive cricket in all formats (Test, ODI, T20I). So, our target will to play aggressive cricket in the ensuing Test cricket match against Ireland. It is the vital thing to make a good score after the end of the day’s play. Red ball or white ball is not a matter. The main matter is to score run. It is also important if a player can get score or a batter can hit a century.”
Miraz said, “International match has a different flavour. The temperament of to play against the Number 1 team or to play against the Number 10 team is equal.
The prolific all-rounder captured 146 wickets playing 37 Test matches. He is waiting to bag 150 wickets.
But the all-rounder, who is in front of the 150-wicket landmark said, ” I am not thinking about the 150-wicket landmark. I am thinking about to play for a long time. If I get 150 wickets, it will give me pleasure. I want to play for a long time and I want to claim a good number of wickets.”
He said, ” We are going to play a Test match after three to four months. We are going to play with our full-fledged squad. Earlier, we played without our key bowlers or our key batters. But this time we shall play with our full-fledged team. We have a good combination. ” ” We are going to play in our home conditions. We have inspected the pitch. It is made for the betterment of all. I expect the batter will do good, the pacers will perform well, the spinners will show well. We want to do good in three departments and we have formed our squad with a good combination,” he added.
It may be mentioned that in-form pacer Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out from the squad due to injury.
