Prothom Alo, BNP go together to undermine BD: Quader

Staff Reporter :
Awami League General Secretary and the Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said, the BNP and Prothom Alo newspaper are going together to undermine Bangladesh.
“They are trying to demean Bangladesh before the world to humiliate the
government. Domestic and foreign conspirators want to create another seventy-five,” he said while peaking at a joint meeting of Awami League at its central office at Bangabandhu Avenue on Saturday.
“Their aim is to rig the next election and establish an unelected government. Prothom Alo’s news report published on the Independence Day is part of the conspiracy,’ the minister said.
The conspirators will be brought under the law, as no one is above it, he added.
The joint meeting was attended by the ruling party’s presidium and central executive committee members, presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka metropolitan north and south units of Awami League and allied organisations.
Obaidul Quader also said that what the Prothom Alo had done was a criminal offence.
“The newspaper had committed yellow journalism in a bid to create anarchy in the country. The Editor of the newspaper cannot avoid the responsibility of reporting the news with wrong information,” he said.
The AL leader stated that the newspaper had showed extreme arrogance by not apologizing for the wrong news.
