Bangladesh are playing a new aggressive style of cricket in T20I under Shakib al Hasan’s captaincy. The Tigers dominated World Champions England in the T20I home series by whitewashing them, following that Ireland are facing the same result as the home side have already taken the three match series 2-0.
Opener Rony Talukdar, who came back to the national side after almost eight years break, gave all credit to Shakib for shifting the aggressive mindset of all players in dressing room.
Rony has played all these five matches of the two series. With him Liton Das was also flourished as Bangladesh got off to a great start in almost every match. The next batters have taken the team forward along that path. The bowlers are constantly giving A-one performances too in every game.
The right-arm batter scored his first fifty in international cricket in the first T20I against Ireland. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his innings of 67 runs off 38 balls. He batted brilliantly in the second match as well. He played an innings of 44 runs off 23 balls on the way to a record 124-run opening partnership with Liton.
He played with the Southpaw in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) a long back, who is now the captain of the national team. He still sees the same aggressive mindset from the top all-rounder.
On the eve of the last T20I against Ireland, Rony said to the media in Chittagong on Thursday, it was Shakib who had weaved the winning spirit in the team.
“Shakib bhai is a legendary cricketer. I played with him in Abahani about 12 years ago. He had the same intention, the same mindset back then. He always tries to be positive, tries to dominate. He is trying to spread his dominating thinking in the team that we will play, play like a Tiger. We will try to dominate” said Rony.
“We will be fearless, we will always go to the field with a positive mindset. Maybe sometimes we fail, sometimes we will get success. But if we can hold on to this thing, holding on to it will increase our success rate. It’s the coach and captain’s thinking” he added.
