Road accident kills one in Kurigram

A peak up van dashed and killed one pedestrian at Kashupur under Fulbari upazila in Kurigram on Monday noon.
The deceased was identified as Kanu Chandra Sen 65 son of late Asutos Chandra Sen of village Dharmopur under Kashipur union of Fulbari upazila.Eyewitnesses sources said,a goods laded peak up Van was rushing in high speed towards Nageswari upazila from Fulbari upazila. When the van reached at Dharmopur the driver lost control over the steering and dashed Kanu Chandra Sen from behind.
The villagers however immediately took away him to Nageswari upazila health complex in a critical condition where the attending doctor declared him dead.The peak up van driver along with his two associates escaped after the incident leaving the peak up.
Being informed Fulbari thana police seized the van brought to Fulbari thana.Officer-in-charge of Fulbari police station Fazlur Rahman told that peak up van has been seized. Lawful action will be taken after getting complain against the driver from the deceased family, OC added.
