Legends of Rupganj thrashed Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club (DMSC) by 10 wickets in their match of the Dhaka Premier League Cricket at the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar on Monday.
Sent into bat first, DMSC scored 80 runs.
Veteran Mashrafe Bin Mortaza played the key role in wrecking DMSC innings. Mashrafe captured five wickets in the space of 17 runs in his 8.4 overs. He earned three maiden overs.
Mashrafe dismissed Imrul Kayes (11) for in their last ball of 11th overs. Then, Anustup Majumder was removed by Mashrafe. Shuvagata Hom (3), Enamul Haque Junior (0) and Khaled Ahmed (4) was dismissed by experienced pacer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Experienced Mahmudullah Riyad (2) was dismissed by Nayeem Islam when Mohammedan’s score was 62 . After Riyad returned to the pavilion, Mohammedan could add more 18 runs in their account. Captain of Mohammedan Imrul Kayes and experienced batter Soumya Sarkar were the only two batters of the traditional outfit, who could reach doble digit figures.
It is the fastest victory in Dhaka Premier League Cricket. Mashrafe for the seventh time claimed five wickets in List-A Cricket Competition. He claimed 11 wickets in this year’s Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
Chasing 81 runs to win, Legends of Rupganj sailed home using 50 deliveries and took only half-an-hour.
Parvez Hossain Emon struck 44 from 21 deliveries including four fours and four sixes in his unbeaten innings.
Munim Shahriar remained unbeaten with 30 runs. He played 29 balls.
Legends of Rupganj gained five victories in their five matches, while Mohammedan got only one point in five matches.
