Inauguration of Ashrayon Project in dists

Chapainawabganj is going to be a district free of landless and homeless people. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would declare it virtually on March 22, 2023 at 10 am.
From this function, a total of 230 more houses in which 75 houses in Sadar upazila, 75 houses in Gomostapur upazila and 80 houses in Nachole upazila would be handed over to the landless and homeless people under the 4th phase of the Ashrayon Project -2, Revenue Department of the Chapainawabganj District Administration sources said.
The sources added that a total of 4,819 houses in which 1,319 houses in the 1st phase, 2,619 houses in the 2nd phase and 651 houses in the 3rd phase were handed over to the landless people of ‘KA’ class and 230 houses are going to be handed over in the 4th phase on March 22. Of them, 784 families in Sadar upazila, 1,188 families in Shibganj upazila, 733 families in Gomostapur upazila, 996 families in Nachole upazila and 1,118 families in Bholahat upazila are being benefited, the sources added.
According to the proposals from the five Upazila Nirbahi Officers of the district and the decision of the Upazila Taskforce Committee and Joint meeting there would be no more landless and homeless people in the ‘KA’ class, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Anisur Rahman Khan confirmed this.
Bhangura (Pabna) Correspondent reports: Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan, UNO of Bhangura, Pabna gave a press briefing to the local journalists on the occasion of the inauguration of the 4th phase land and house provision program by the Prime Minister on Tuesday. At this time, among others Upazila Chairman Md Baki Billah, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Bipasha Hossain, Upazila Vice Chairman Golam Hafiz Ranju, Upazila Women Vice Chairman Azida Parveen Pakhi, Social Service Officer Md Zahidul Islam and local journalists were present in the conference room of Upazila Parishad.
UNO Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan said in the press briefing that 12 families are being resettled in Chandipur, Dasbelai, Patharghata and Charbhangura shelter projects of Bhangura upazila in the fourth phase. With this, a total of 59 landless and homeless families of the upazila were given houses as a gift from the Prime Minister. He also said that 40 more such houses are being built in the future.
Ramgarh (Khagrachhari) Correspondent adds : Some 133 landless, homeless, ultra-poor tribal-Bengali families of various extremely remote hilly areas of Khagrachhari’s Ramgarh will be handed over shelter project houses and land deeds. On Wednesday Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will virtually inaugurate the handing over of these houses and documents. Through this, 133 homeless families of Ramgarh will own a 400 sq. ft. two-room Drishinandan semi-furnished house. Destitute families who spend their days drenched in rain water in bamboo-thatched huts on the hilltops or slopes, hot summer sun and Konkan cold in winter will be overjoyed to get this beautiful semi-furnished house of the dream of the Asyaran project. Ramgarh Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mamata Afrin said, in a press briefing that a total of 133 families will get houses and land in Ramgarh in the first phase of the 4th phase under the shelter project-2. Among them, there are 37 families in Ramgarh Union, 73 in Patachhara and 23 in Ramgarh Municipality. Construction of 133 houses has already been completed.
He said that 343 landless and homeless families are living in shelters in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages.
He said, “Actually houseless and landless families are identified by checking the land and they are being given houses and land under the shelter project. Tribals and Bengalis are getting this benefit equally on the basis of eligibility. The highest standards are being ensured in the construction of houses. He further said that apart from a separate kitchen in each of the two-roomed rooms, health-compliant latrines, clean drinking water and electricity connections are also being provided. Under the CHTDB’s special project, solar panels are being provided to shelter houses in remote hilly villages without electricity. 133 houses of the fourth phase will be handed over to the beneficiary families virtually on Wednesday (22 March). After the Prime Minister’s inauguration, house keys and land deeds will be officially handed over to 133 beneficiary families in Ramgarh. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Manas Chandra Das and Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Md Nazrul Islam were present in the press briefing.
