Argentina Kabaddi team in Dhaka

Argentina Kabaddi team reached Dhaka on Friday to take part in the Bangabandhu Cup Third International Kabbaddi Tournament, which is scheduled to be held at the Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in the city from March 13. The members of Argentina Kabaddi team landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 8.00am on Friday. The Latin American Kabaddi team are staying at a residential hotel in the city’s Paltan area. They will stay there until the end of the kabaddi meet.
In the year of 2021, a total of eight teams took part in the first edition of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament.
In the year of 2022, a total of eight teams participated in the second edition of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament.
Argentina Kabaddi team represented from South America in the upcoming kabaddi competition.
A total of 12 countries will compete in this year’s Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament. They are: Hosts Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal from South Asian Zone, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei from South East Asian Zone, Iraq from Middle East, Kenya from Africa, England, Poland from Europe and Argentina from South America.
Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Argentina will play for the first time in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament.
Earlier, Bangladesh Kabaddi team faced Argentina Kabaddi team in World Cup Kabaddi in 2016 and it was for the first time Bangladesh played against Argentina. Bangladesh won over Argentina in that match.
The draw ceremony of the kabaddi meet will be held today. The draw ceremony will be decided if Bangladesh will play against Argentina in group phase.
