Suitable climate supports mango sprouting in Madhukhali

Every house and mango orchard in Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur is filled with the smell of mango buds. Cultivation of various kinds of delicious mangoes is increasing day by day in the upazila.
On the surface, the municipal area of the upazila, some union areas including Naopara, Meghchami, Kamarkhali, Jahapur, Raipur, Ghazna can be seen, empty spaces between villages, pond banks, roadsides and house yard trees are adorned only with mango buds. Each branch of the tree is covered with buds. But the yield of mango depends on the weather.
If the weather is favorable, many are expecting a bumper crop of mangoes this year. Amrapali, Gopalbhog, Langra, Fazli are among the native mangoes in the upazila. Already these trees are full of buds. The garden owners said that they have started taking care of the trees since the budding.
They are spraying the necessary medicine as per the advice of the local agriculture department to protect against the attack of the bud disease plague.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Alvir Rahman said that a lot of mango buds have come this year. Last year, mango was cultivated in 580 hectares of land in the upazila. About 600 hectares of mangoes have been cultivated this year. Mango orchards are expanding day by day in the upazila.
Commercial mango orchards have also emerged from earlier. The Agriculture Office has always been giving advice on care from the beginning of the mango bud on the tree to the end. So far bumper the mango yield is expected.
