Hasan Babu elected DSE chairman

Dr Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu, dean of the faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Dhaka, has been elected as the chairman of the board of directors of Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd (DSE).
The announcement was made in the 1,054th board meeting of DSE on Sunday, read a press release.
Babu was elected as the chairman of the board of directors after being approved as one of four independent directors of the DSE by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on February 20, 2023.
Apart from serving as the dean of Engineering and Technology faculty, Babu is also an elected senate member of the University of Dhaka and a part-time member of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council appointed by the president of Bangladesh.
He is currently the president of the International Internet Society, Bangladesh Chapter and was an honorary member of the ICT Task Force of the prime minister.
