Parliament to begin third session Aug 27

The 13th Parliament will begin its third session on August 27, following a 43-day recess after the second session was prorogued.

The session will begin at 3pm on Thursday, Director (Public Relations) of the Parliament Secretariat Monir Hossain said on Tuesday.

President has summoned the session under Article 72(1) of the Constitution.

The second session, which was also the budget session, was prorogued on July 15 after 27 working days.

During the session, Parliament passed a Tk 9,38,000 crore national budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, the first budget of the current BNP government.

The House also passed 11 bills and formed 11 parliamentary committees, including the Special Committee for Constitutional Amendment and nine parliamentary standing committees.

The first session of the 13th Parliament began on March 12, 2026.
