Two factories catch fire in Narayanganj

Two fire incidents occurred in two separate places on Tuesday.
At Rupganj, a fire broke out at a spinning mill’s factory in Narayanganj’s Rupganj area on Tuesday (Feb 28) noon has been brought under control.
The fire started around 1:30pm at HP Chemicals factory, according to Khaleda Yasmin, duty officer at the fire service control room.
On information, a total of 11 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 5:20pm, she added.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately. No causalities have been reported so far, she added.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out at a warehouse for storing garment leftover (Jhoot) in Konabari area in Gazipur on Tuesday evening. Seven fire fighting units are trying to douse the blaze till writing the report. According to sources, the fire originated at the tin-shed warehouse around 6:20pm.
Rozina Akter, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters confirmed news to the media on Tuesday night. The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, she said.
