Fire at Korail slum doused

At least two fire incidents were occurred in two separate places of the capital on Sunday.
A fire that broke out at Korail slum in Mohakhali area of the capital on Sunday afternoon was brought under control within one hour and a half.
Khaleda Yeasin, duty officer of the fire service headquarters media cell, confirmed the matter to the media and said that the fire originated at 4:30pm at the slum. On information, nine units of fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames at 5:33pm.
The reasons behind the fire incident and the extent of damage could not be confirmed immediately, she said.
No casualties were reported till the filling of this report.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out at a building in Dhaka’s Mouchak Tower Shopping Complex on Sunday (Feb 26) morning.
After around fifty minutes, firefighters brought the fire under control.
Station Officer Khilgaon Fire Service Station of Md. Mehdi Hasan confirmed the matter this noon.
He said the fire broke out around 11:40 am on the sixth floor of Mouchak Tower.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, the official added.
