BB seeks information from the upcoming UP, Municipalities polls candidates

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has asked information from the candidates of the upcoming Union Parishad (UP) and municipalities’ election.
BB wants to know is there any loan defaulters in the interested candidates. BB asked the returning officials to send information by following the Credit Information Bureau (CIB) format.
Election Commission (EC) officials said earlier the EC has asked the BB to send information about the loan defaulter election candidates. After the EC’s request the BB has taken initiatives to collect information about the interested candidates’ financial statement.
CIB’s Joint Director Md Shahidul Islam signed letter asked to provide the information. The letter said those who have submitted nomination paper to take part the upcoming UP and municipalities polls, they are asked to give their loan defaulter status by filling-up the CIB’s provided format.
The format asked the candidate to fill up their full name, father’s name, mother’s name, husband’s name (if applicable), National Identity Card (NID) number, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), birth date, permanent and temporary address, phone and mobile number.
