Seats shortage hits Ghior Upazila Health Complex

Ghior Upazila Health Complex of Manikganj has more patients than the number of beds, so many patients have to stay on the floor and balcony of the
hospital.
Such pictures were seen during the visit to different wards of the hospital on Thursday. Due to the lack of seats in the Upazila 50-bed Health Complex, many patients are accommodated on the floor of the hospital ward.
In this government hospital, which is the only resort of medical services for the common people, the incoming and admitted patients get the desired service, but there are more patients than the number of beds. Along with these, the number of patients has increased at present. As a result, 50 to 80 patients are admitted to the hospital on average every day. Each patient is accompanied by an average of 3 attendants and outside visitors. As a result, every ward is overflowing with patients. On the floor – many people do not get the air of the balcony fan, so one has to be busy with the patient all the time during the day with a hand fan.
Pear Jan, an 80-year-old patient on the floor who was admitted with abdominal pain from Nilua village, said he had been lying on the balcony since Wednesday morning. Because the seat is not empty, the bed is not available on the forehead. 60-year-old Aarti Mandal, who was admitted to the hospital from Mylagi village after being beaten up by her daughter, said that she was admitted last Tuesday for treatment. As there is no seat, it is difficult to stay in the balcony.
