Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
Bangladesh’s internationally renowned actress Bobita (original name is Farida Akhter but popularly known by her stage name ‘Bobita’) is no longer seen in new movies.
The talented actress was last seen
in Nargis Akhter’s ‘Putro Ekhon Paisawala.’ After that he was not
seen in any new movie. The movie was released in 2015.
While talking in this regard, Bobita told this correspondent, “After this film in 2015, I was not seen in any new movie. Many people came to me with stories. But I didn’t do it because I didn’t like the story. One thing I have said time and again is that I have to like the story and the characters. If not, I won’t act in movies anymore. But that does not mean that I will never act again. I will definitely do it because I am an actress at heart. I want to act forever. That’s why I want a good story, I want an amazing character. Now it is not the time to act in any movies. Better not to do that.”
Meanwhile, Bobita has many fans in the country and abroad. Many of Bobita’s seniors are also fans of her acting. They now enjoy Bobita’s movies on TV or YouTube. One such person is Professor Anwar Hossain. He said, “Bobita came to cinema when she was young. So before our eyes, Bobita became a heroine and became quite popular. I went to the cinema hall and watched the movie starring her. I still sometimes watch her movies on TV. I like it. I heard that he no longer acts in movies. But as a fan of her movies or her acting, I can say that she can act in a story-based movie, where the story of the movie will be centered around her.”
Internationally renowned actress Bobita won the hearts of two Bengali audiences by acting in Satyajit Ray’s movie ‘Ashani Sanket.’ Soumitra Chatterjee acted opposite her in this movie. By acting in this movie released on August 15, 1973, Bobita rose to a different height among the heroines of Bangladesh because acting in an Oscar winner’s movie is a very lucky thing. At that time, Bobita received BFJ, Prasar Bharati, India’s state-owned public broadcaster, and other awards from India.
