Pritom, Shahtaj announce end of their marriage

The marriage of popular singer Pritom Hasan and model-actress Shahtaj Monira Hashem has broken up.

Both Pritom and Shahtaj officially announced their divorce through a statement on social media around 10:00pm on Sunday.

In a statement on Facebook, Pritom Hasan wrote, “After 10 years of our journey together, Shahtaj and I have decided to end our marital relationship.”

“Expressing gratitude for the time, memories and experiences we have shared together,” he said that their respect and well-wishes for each other will always remain.

Regarding the reason for the separation, Pritom wrote, “Over time, we have realised that due to some major differences in mutual understanding, it would be better for both of us to go our separate ways.”

Pritom further wrote that the two of them took this difficult decision to separate after discussing it together, “This decision was not taken suddenly. We have reached this decision after much thought, discussion among ourselves, and with the support and consent of our family.”

The statement also stated that they are currently going through the process of divorce and want to move forward separately in this new chapter of their lives.

The singer has made a sincere request to friends, colleagues and the media to respect their personal space, privacy and feelings during this time of transition.

Shahtaj also published the same message in English on her Facebook.
Pritom Hasan married Shahtaj Monira Hashem four years ago on October 28, 2022.

Their relationship began five years ago, while shooting for the music video of Pritom Hasan’s popular song ‘Jadukor’.

After four years of marriage and 10 years of being together, the star couple officially ended their relationship.
