Tareen’s call to donate books to children

Entertainment Report :
Tareen Jahan, a popular actress from the country’s
theatre plays and television dramas, inaugurated as the initiator of the annual cultural programme of an English medium school in Chattogram. As the initiator of the programme, she called upon the children to present books while inaugurating the event. She called this at the annual cultural function of Eden Nur English School at Hathazari in Chattogram.
Tareen Jahan said, “I would like to thank the Chairman of the Eden Nur School at Hathajari, Chattogram Khaled Mahmud and Principal of the school Mahnur Tasnim madam for inviting me as the initiator of the annual cultural programme of the school. This school is different from other schools. Here in addition to teaching education in both English and Bengali languages to general students, 48 underprivileged children are also being taught free of charge. The Prime Minister is giving books free of cost and the school is giving free notebooks, which is really an example. The initiative they have taken (on a small scale) to bring underprivileged children to the light of education is commendable. I like it very much. Thank you so much for including me in this beautiful event. A big thank to those who donated delicious ‘Pithapuli.’ Children are given books instead of mobile phones and video games.”
Meanwhile, at the end of last year, Tareen won the award as the best actress in two consecutive events from two separate events. In the meantime, Tareen Jahan has worked as a judge for the folk dance category in the National Children’s Award Competition. Meanwhile, the 48th anniversary of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was celebrated with grand arrangements. Tareen also took part in this event.
