Southampton sacked Nathan Jones as their first team coach on Sunday, a day after they lost a key relegation battle 2-1 at home to 10-man Wolverhampton.
The result leaves Southampton bottom of the Premier League with 15 points from 22 matches and four points from safety.
Former Luton boss Jones had been named as the replacement for Ralph Hasenhuttl in November, just before the start of the World Cup finals. He was in charge for just 14 matches in all competitions.
Although Jones led Southampton to the last-16 of the FA Cup and took them to the semifinal of the Carabao Cup, where they lost to Newcastle, it has been a different story in the Premier League.
