3 fire incidents occurred in capital

At least three fire incidents occurred in capital’s three separate places on Tuesday.
At CMM court, a fire broke out on the ground floor of the office of the Superintendent of Police at Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court premises has been brought under control after one hour.
According to sources, the fire originated around 1:15pm in the building. On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 2:12 pm, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters’ media cell.
The origin of the fire is yet to be known, he said. No injuries or casualties were reported.
At Shimanto Square, a fire broke out at the basement of Shimanto Square in the city’s Dhanmondi on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Fire Service, the fire originated at the basement of Shimanto Square at about 5.00pm. Being informed, three units of Fire Service rushed to the spot and doused the fire after 40 minutes.
Fire Service official Lima Khanam confirmed the matter to the media and said that reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
However, no casualty was reported in the fire. At Shyampur, another fire that broke out at a textile mill named Chadni Textile Mills in the capital’s Shyampur area was brought under control around 12:15pm on Tuesday.
According to the fire service, the fire originated around 11:30am on Tuesday. Being informed, several firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with an effort of one hour.
Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service Md Hafizur Rahman confirmed the news and said that the cause of, casualties and loss from the fire could not be known yet.
It is mentionable that a patient died from inhaling smoke when a fire broke out at the Dhaka Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) last Sunday afternoon. At the time, panic gripped the patients and their attendants.
The victim was identified as Jashim Uddin (61), a pneumonia patient. He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday.
The hospital staff and firefighters, however, doused the fire that broke out at around 2:45pm on the third floor of the DMCH new building within half an hour, said the DMCH police outpost In-Charge Inspector Bacchu Mia.
