20 kgs venison, traps, small boat recovered from Sundarbans

A number of traps (for catching deer) and a small boat locally known as Dingi Nauka along with 20 kgs venison were recovered from Ishaker Chila area under Chandpai Forest Range in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district) by the forest guards at Sunday mid night. But the forest guards could not arrest the poachers.
 It is learnt from Mohammad Shahjahan, Officer-in- charge of Jewdhara forest station under Chandpai Forest Range in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans that acting on secret information a contingent of the forest guards conducted a raid in Ishaker Chila at the night at about 12-30 pm and recovered some traps and a small boat along with 20 kgs venison from there. But the forest guards could not arrest the poacher as sensing the appearance of the forest guards they (poachers) managed to escape. Forest guards are trying their best to arrest the miscreants.
