Highway Police Khulna pays tribute to July martyrs
The Highway Police Khulna Region observed July Uprising Day 2026 with due respect and solemnity, paying tribute to the martyrs of the July 2024 mass uprising.
Officials of the Highway Police Khulna Region laid wreaths at the July Martyrs’ Memorial at Shibbari Intersection in Khulna city on Wednesday, in honour of those who sacrificed their lives during the July 2024 movement.
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria, who was recently promoted to the rank of Additional Deputy Inspector General (Additional DIG), led the tribute by placing a wreath at the memorial. He then observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen and offered prayers for the eternal peace of their souls, as well as for the country’s peace, progress and prosperity.
Senior officials and personnel of the Highway Police Khulna Region attended the programme. They paid deep tribute to the July martyrs, saying their sacrifices in the struggle for democracy, justice and the rights of the people would remain a lasting source of inspiration.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the ideals of the martyrs by serving the nation and its people with integrity, dedication and professionalism.
Marking the day, the Highway Police Khulna Region expressed its deepest respect for all those who lost their lives in the July mass uprising and extended heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families.
