PM to inaugurate Ekushey Book Fair tomorrow Last minute preparation ongoing

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the month-long Ekushey Book Fair, the annual event of booklovers, writer and publishers, in person tomorrow on the traditional date of the first day of February.
The Book Fair will remain open from 3:00pm to 9.00pm on weekdays and for holidays the time span will be 11am to 9.00 pm. Besides, on February 21, the book fair will open at 8am.
Dr KM Muzahidul Islam, Member Secretary of the Book Fair Committee and Director of Bangla Academy, informed the overall progress of the fair on Monday at a press conference held at Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy while Bangla Academy’s Director General Mohammad Nurul Huda also delivered his speech.
Moreover, the workers of the book fair were passing busy time to prepare the book stalls as a last minute preparations. The stalls’ infrastructures are already finished, now they were working for adoration of the stalls.  
There will be four entrance and exit gate of the book fair while the Ramna Kali Mondir gate will be used as the main gate. The other one is adjacent to Ramna Engineering Institute, one is adjacent to TSC of Dhaka University, and the other is opposite to Bangla Academy.
This year the book fair has been organised at a total of 11.5 square fit areas of Suhrawardy Udyan and Bangla Academy.
A number of 901 stalls are allocated among 601 organizations to exhibit and sell books, where 489 organisations on the Suhrawardy Udyan while 112 organisations at Bangla Academy premises. Besides, a total of 38 pavilions will beexisted at the book fair.
Besides, 182 stalls and 11 pavilions adjacent to the Institution of Engineers have relocated to the centre of the Suhrawardy Udyan while that spot has been allocated to Lekhok Bolchi, food court and other service provider institutions.
There are some changes have been brought to this year’s fair, Muzahidul Islam said that the main stage of the fair will be on the Bangla Academy premises while book unwrapping and Lekhak Bolchi stages will be set up on Suhrawardy Udyan premises.
The children’s yard location has also been change. It will be near the main gate, where the kids will enjoy different events including Sisimpur.
