BNP leader Khokon’s house vandalised

A group of people, comprising 20 to 25, had attacked and vandalised the house of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joint secretary general and also the Convener of Narsingdi district unit Khairul Kabir Khokon in Chinishpur area of the city on Thursday night .
They were carrying lethal weapons and marched towards Khokon’s house chanting slogans. After breaking into the main entrance of the house, they destroyed banners, vandalised furniture, set furniture on fire, broke down the windows and left the place.
Although, the police and BNP leaders are yet to confirm who is involved. It is assumed that men who were deprived of posts of the district Chhatra Dal committee may have caused this incident.
Caretaker of the house Kajol said that he was inside the house in that time and heard some people entered the residence chanting slogan and the vandalised the entire house.
BNP district unit member secretary Monjur Elahi visited the spot after the incident and said if any party member is involved, the party will take action against the accused after analysing the CCTV footage of the house.
Narsingdi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), confirmed the news and said they are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, after 12 years, Narsingdi District Chhatra Dal’s partial committee had been announced on Thursday afternoon. The Central Chhatra Dal announced the five-member committee with Siddiqur Rahman alias Nahid as the president and Mehedi Hasan alias Rifat as the general secretary.
