Mamo invites all to watch movie ‘Ora Shatjon’ with open mind

National Film Award winning versatile actress Zakia Bari Mamo starrer movie titled ‘Ora Shatjon,’ which story is based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh, is going to release on March 3. Director of this movie Khijir Hayat Khan confirmed the news yesterday. Meanwhile, on the birthday of Khizir Hayat Khan on January 11, some of the brave freedom fighters of the crack platoons of the Liberation War and their families watched the movie in an arrangement of private screening where actors of the film including Zakia Bari Mamo were also present.
In the cinema, Mamo played the role of a freedom fighter named Aparna Sen. According to director Khijir Hayat Khan, Mamo’s character is significant in the story of the movie ‘Ora Shatjon.’  
While talking about acting in the movie and inviting the audience especially young movie-lovers to watch ‘Ora Shatjon,’ actress Zakia Bari Mamo said, “Movies of Liberation War means leaving a certain formulaic idea or put in a certain limit. But the cinema of the liberation war means to leave the idea of the movie that is tied to the barrier or checkerboard – that time is not really now. So, I would say that especially for the younger generation audience, we should read the book with an open mind and watch the movie ‘Ora Shatjon’ with an open mind without keeping the conventional image in mind. Only then we can enjoy the movie properly, or those who go to the cinema hall they can also enjoy it properly. I am very satisfied to work in this movie – it really took a lot of hard work for me and also for all of us. Our main goal is to please the audience.”
Meanwhile, Mamo has recently completed shooting of a web series, directed by Abu Shahed Emon, for an OTT platform. She played the role of Synthia Karim in this web series. Within very short time, she is going to work in another project, said the actress. “In the New Year, I will work in new movies,” Mamo also said.
It is noted that in Khijir Hayat Khan’s ‘Ora Shatjon,’ alongside Mamo, Intekhab Dinar, Saif Khan, Imtiaz Barshan, Nafiz Ahmed, Khalid Mahbub Turjo, and Khijir Hayat Khan.
