Digging ponds protested in Tarash

Local farmers staged a protest march and human chain to protest against the digging of ponds in three crop fields in Tarasha of Sirajganj on Monday.
 Farmers of several villages including Madhavpur, Mathurapur, Boalia of Tarash Sadar Union came together and submitted a written complaint to the upazila executive officer after a protest march and human chain. The farmers in the human chain demanded that either 3 fossil lands should be cleared of waterlogging and crops should be raised, or fish farming should be arranged. At that time, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer went to the ground and informed about taking measures subject to discussion with the farmers.
