BGB man kills himself with service weapon in Satkhira

A member of Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) has reportedly killed himself with his own arms at Shyamnagar of Satkhira.
The deceased has been identified as Parvez Alam, 30, an inhabitant of Amki village under Sonaimuri Police Station of Noakhali. He was lance naik.
The incident occurred at 4 am on Tuesday (January 3) when he was on duty at Magazine guard of 17 Battalion Nildumur BGB camp.
After the incident, victim Parvez Alam was taken to Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex in a critical condition where duty physician declared him dead.
Shyamnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nurul Islam confirmed the matter to the media and said, “The body was handed over to BGB officials around 2:30 pm on Tuesday (January 3) after completing the autopsy at Satkhira Sadarr Hospital.
An unnatural Death (UD) case has been filed in this connection with Shyamnagar Police Station.”
Satkhira Sadar Hospital physician Dr Ahmed Ali and Dr Tamim Hossain said that Parvez Alam died as he sustained bullet injury on the left side of his chest.
No comment was immediately available even after contacting with Lt Col Kamrul Hasan, Commanding Officer of 17 Nildumur BGB.
