Mother, daughter among 3 killed in Faridpur road crash

Three, including a woman and her minor daughter, were killed and three others injured when a car crashed into a truck amid dense fog on the Dhaka-Bhanga highway at Salildia in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Laboni Begum, 38, wife of one Jewel Sheikh from Atadi village, their daughter minor Joynab Akter, 2, and Suraiya Akter, 17, daughter of one Turul Sheikh.
Bhanga highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Taimur Islam said, the accident took place in the area when the private car carrying six people rammed a truck from behind, leaving one passenger dead on the spot and five others injured.
Later, the injured were rushed to upazila health complex and Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared death of others two.
Three other injured have been also sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
