Rizvi, Tuku shown arrested in separate cases

Separate courts here yesterday showed BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Jubo Dal President Sultan Salauddin Tuku arrested in separate cases.
Confirming the matter to the media, Tuku’s counsel Advocate Nihar Hossain Faruk said that police produced his client in the courts of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur and Tofazzal Hossain one after another and pleaded to show him arrested in sabotage cases filed with capital’s Shahbagh, Romna and Palta Police Stations.
“Accepting the pleas, the courts showed Sultan Salauddin Tuku arrested in those cases,” Advocate Faruk said.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arafatul Rakib allowed a prosecution plea to show BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a complaint register (CR) case.
One person was killed and several others including policemen were injured in the clash in front of BNP central office in Nayapaltan on December 7. Several leaders and activists of BNP including Rizvi, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny, Aman Ullah Aman and Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas were arrested during police drives following the clash.
