Police arrested 232 people, yaba recovered in Kishoreganj

Police have arrested at least 232 people in connection with 69 cases filed against them in the last 8 days in Kishoreganj as part of ongoing special operation across the country.
Apart from this, a large quantity of narcotics were recovered during the operation.
Kishoreganj District Police conducted the campaign against various illegal activities including militancy, sabotage , rumour, terrorist activities and drug dealing.
The SP Office sources, the operation which started on December 1 will continue till December 15. Block raids, check posts, searching of suspects and vehicles are continuing at various points in the district.
As part of the operation, 69 cases were filed between December 1 and 8 and 232 people were arrested in this connection. Besides, warrants were issued against 250 people.
Apart from this, 1,879 yaba and 45 kg of ganja were also recovered during police drives.
The 4 additional SPs of Kishoreganj and an assistant superintendent of police under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Russell Sheikh PPM (Bar) performing area-wise duties for the successful operation. As part of the operation, the police are vigorously carrying out block raid drive, check posts, suspect persons and vehicle searches at various points in the district.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mohammad Noore Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mostak Sarkar, Pakundia and Nikli police stations. Al-Amin Hossain is in Kishoreganj Sadar, Tarail and Karimganj thana areas, Additional Superintendent of Police (Hosseinpur Circle) Sujan Chandra Sarkar in Hossainpur and Katiadi Thana areas and Assistant Superintendent of Police (Ashtagram Circle) Samuel Sangma is continuing operations in Mithamoin, Ashtagram and Itna thana areas.
When contacted, Kishoreganj SP Mohammad Russel Sheikh PPM (Bar) told the New Nation that In addition to militancy sabotage and terrorist activities, the security system has been strengthened in view of the Great Victory Day on December 16. The entire Kishoreganj has been covered with security. On the initiative of the district police, search posts have been set up on the main roads of the city and at various important places of Kishoreganj.
Police are ready to deal with any situation. In continuation of that, special operations are being conducted every day. Along with uniformed law enforcement, a large number of plainclothes personnel are on duty.
He also said that the activities of various organizations including the warrant accused are under surveillance to avoid any mischief. Vigilance is being kept on the activities of outsiders.
Apart from this, the social media is under the monitoring of the cyber crime team of the police. Additional police personnel are present at important places. Besides the various entrances to the city, extra vigilance and searches are being carried out in the surrounding areas.
