Readers’ Voice

Where is our Sonar Bangla?

“Bishaw kabir sonar Bangla, Nazruler Bangladesh, Jibanander rupashi Bangla, ruper je tar Neiko shesh”.
In the past we used to recite this poem with joy and contentment but not anymore, the beauty of our dear country has been destroyed by people who do not care about anything else only about themselves. We are unable to live in this horrible situation anymore and praying to Al- Mighty Allah to deliver us from this agonising situation.

Institutional email account for NU students

The National University (NU), like many other public universities in Bangladesh, doesn’t provide institutional email accounts to its honours and masters students. Due to the non-availability of institutional email accounts, students are deprived of many benefits.
Suppose the university authorities give a student an institutional email account, he or she will get some facilities like free access to online educational courses, research papers and some software (like Microsoft 365).
Moreover, when a student with an institutional email account sends an email to a foreign professor, he or she may prioritise the email. On the other hand, many good journals don’t give free access to the papers in the absence of an institutional email account. So, a student has to pay a good amount of money that is not affordable. But whenever he has a student email account, he can easily get access to those journals.
Considering all the benefits students will reap from having an institutional email account, the National University should give student accounts to its honours and masters students.
