Orientation of Child Marriage Prevention Committee held

The orientation programme of Child Marriage Prevention Committee was held at Madhainagar Union Parishad Hall Room on Sunday under the chairmanship of UP Chairman Habilur Rahman Habib. In collaboration with USAID and Winrock International and implemented by GANA UNNAON KENGRA(GUK), the orientation of the Child Marriage Prevention Committee was conducted in accordance with the USAID’s Fight Slavery and Trafficking in Persons (FSTIP) Programme. All the members of the Union Parishad and other members of the committee were present at that time. Aurobindo and Taslima Khatun of Mass Development Center GUK were the project officers at the orientation of the Child Marriage Prevention Committee

Farewell given to Deputy Commissioner

The farewell of Sirajganj Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faruk Ahmed was held at Shahid Smriti Hall Room organized by Shahzadpur Upazila Administration on Sunday. He has promoted as Joint Secretary. Among others, Shahzadpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Prof Azad Rahman, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Mamunur Rashid Liaquat, Upazila Executive Officer Sadia Afrin, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Liaquat Salman, Shahzadpur Circle (Assistant Superintendent of Police) Hasibul Islam, Shahzadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam Mridha, Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary and Shahzadpur Press Club General Secretary Mustaq Ahmed, Shahzadpur Press Club President Bimal Kundu and others were present in the function. Shahzadpur police station Officer-In-Charge Nazrul Islam Mridha performed a song on the occasion of the departure of the Deputy Commissioner.

Fire burns furniture factory in Kalapara

A devastating fire burnt a furniture shop nmaed Faraji Furniture & Door in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district on Friday . Several machines of the furniture manufacturing factory were burnt in flames making woods to ashes. The shopkeeper suffered a loss of around Tk.10 lakh. Later two teams of Kalapara Fire Service controlled the fire after about one and a half hours . Ilyas Hossain, team leader of Kalapara Fire Service, said exactly how the fire was originated yet to be confirmed.
Two killed in separate train accidents

BSS, Brahmanbaria

Two people, including a woman, were killed in two separate train accidents in the district Saturday.
The identities of the victims could not be known immediately. The accidents occurred at Brahmanbaria Rail Station and Talshahar Station in Ashuganj in the early hours of today, said Salauddin Khan Noman, sub-inspector (SI) of Brahmanbaria Railway Police Station outpost. The woman of about 30/35 years of age died after being crushed under the wheels of the Sylhet-bound Parabat Express train while trying to board the vehicle during its departure from the Brahmanbaria station after a break, he said.
The man was crushed to death by another train at Talshahar Station. Police recovered his body but could not find out details about the train involved in the incident.
