Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Governor’: Flop in theatres, hit on OTT
Manoj Bajpayee’s new economic thriller ‘Governor: The Silent Savior’ flopped at the box office after its release. However, after coming to OTT, all the calculations have changed.
Governor has occupied the top spot in the list of Prime Video’s overall ‘most trending’ movies in India.
This news was reported by the media outlet Bollywood Hungama. Chinmoy Mandlekar’s film ‘Governor’ was released on the big screen on June 12.
The film is inspired by the real-life story of the 1991 Indian financial crisis and the then Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, S Venkataraman.
However, due to its complex political and administrative content, it did not resonate well with the general audience. As a result, the film was a flop, earning only Rs 7.5 crore at the box office.
