40 kgs copper coils of Rampal Power Plant seized

More than 40 kgs copper coils were seized along with a truck and 4 thieves were arrested from the main gate of Bangladesh-India Friendship coal based Power Plant at Rampal under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat disrict by the members of Ansar Battalion of Rampal Camp-3 on Friday morning (at about 11 am), according to a report received here.
It is learnt from Chandan Debnath, Commander of the Ansar Battalion that acting on secret information an skilled band of Ansars of the camp led by its leader Rajib Hossain raided the main gate of the Power Plant, searched a truck (Dhaka Metro-Da-11-0764), recovered 53 pieces of copper coils from it and arrested 4 thieves. The market price of the seized copper coils is Tk.72 thousand while the market price of the seized truck is Tk.12 lack.
The arrested thieves are Misharul Islam Hawladar (driver), of village Barni under Rampal Upazila, Ful Mia (helper) of village Jewdhara under Morrelganj Upoazila, Imran Tarafdar of village Manikpur under Rampal Upazila and Saiful Shaikh of village Sultania under the same Upazila in Bagerhat district.
It may be mentioned here that stealing of copper coils and some other valuable materials of the Power Plant is almost a regular feature.
