Sank cargo ship in Pashur channel yet to rescue

A cargo ship named MV. Jubayra-1 loaded with 8 hundred metric tonmes coal that was stranded with the sandy shore of the Pashur channel of Mongla Sea Port at Charkana area on Friday morning has not yet been rescued, according to a report received here. Though crack appeared on the decks of both sides of the cargo water could not enter its interior and its 12 staff are OK by the grace of Almighty Allah. It was disclosed by Faruq Gazi, Master of the cargo ship. The cargo after loading the coal from a foreign ship named MV. Pythagoras anchored with the buoy No.5 in the harbour area of Mongla port left the harbour for Rampal coal based Power Plant on Friday morning (at about 10-30 am) and when it reached the place of occurrence it collided with a shoal of Pashur channel.
