CTTC arrests 2 with 3,000 yaba tablets
The Counter. Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two alleged drug dealers with 3,000 yaba tablets in Jatrabari.
The arrests were made during a raid near Sayedabad bus terminal at around 12:45am on Wednesday, according to a DMP press release.
The arrested men have been identified as Jamal Uddin, 39, and Md Shaheen Alam, 38, said the DMP Media and Public Relations Division.
A CTTC team conducted the operation in the Sayedabad bus terminal area and detained the two men with the yaba tablets, the release said.
The police are now taking steps to file a case against the duo with Jatrabari Police Station in connection with the seizure.
The DMP said its anti-drug drives would continue across the capital as part of efforts to curb drug smuggling.
The latest operation comes as the DMP continues its regular drives against the trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs in the capital.
