Fardin murdered, says autopsy report

BUET student Fardin Noor Parash, whose body was recovered from Shitalakkhya river near Siddhirganj of Narayanganj yesterday afternoon, was murdered.
Sheikh Farhad, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Narayanganj General Hospital, confirmed the matter around 11:00am Tuesday after the autopsy of Parash.
A board comprising three physicians conducted the autopsy around 10:30am Tuesday. Two other members of the boar are- Dr Mofizuddin Nipun and Dr Golam Mostafa.
Dr Farhad said Parash had injury marks in his head and different parts of his body. There are also injury marks in his chest. “Fardin died three days ago and was physically tortured before his death,” he said.
“The actual cause of death can be ascertained after receiving the viscera report, but it is certain that he was a victim of murder,” he added.
Meanwhile, Fardin Noor Parash was buried at Delpara Central Graveyard in Sadar Upazila on Tuesday evening. Fardin,s family members and classmates from BUET were present at the time.
Earlier, the family members took the body from the hospital in a freezer van around 1:45 pm Tuesday.
Nabin Chowdhury, a colleague of Fardin’s father, told the media that the body was taken to his village home in Delpara Nayamati area of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila after a namaz-e-janaza on BUET campus.
Inspector (Investigation) of Siddhirganj Police Station Hafizur Rahman said that no case was filed yet. Parash’s body was taken to BUET campus Tuesday afternoon.
Fardin Parash went missing in a area under Rampura Police Station of the capital, where a General Diary was lodged. His family is yet to take decision on where they will file a case. “We will record a case if the relatives file any,” the Inspector said.
UNB adds: Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) on Tuesday formed a human chain on campus, demanding justice for fellow student Fardin Noor Parash’s death.
The human chain, under the banner of general students, was formed in front of Buet Shaheed Minar after Fardin’s namaz-e-janaza at the campus Central Mosque.
The students demanded immediate arrest of those behind Fardin’s death after identifying them.
Fardin’s body was brought to Buet campus after autopsy on Tuesday morning.
Fardin was a 3rd year student of Buet’s civil engineering department and a resident of Qutubpur area in Narayanganj’s Fatullah. Earlier today, Sheikh Farhad, a physician at Narayanganj General Hospital where the autopsy was done, said there were several injury marks on Fardin’s head and body.
Police have detained two friends of Fardin for interrogation, Maniruzzaman Moni, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj River Police, said. Police are also trying to find clues to and possible reasons behind Fardin’s death, he said.
