Dhaka District North Chhatra League Student Affairs Secretary Babli Akhter has been arrested by the police on charge of stealing in Dhaka’s Dhamrai.
On Wednesday (November 2), Investigating Officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dhamrai Police Station Ashraful Islam confirmed this matter to the media.
Earlier, he was arrested from Nayabari in Savar Municipal area on Tuesday night.
Police arrested a female Chhatra League leader in a case filed over cattle theft in several areas at Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka.
The accused has been identified as Babli Akhter, the female student affairs secretary of Dhaka District North Chhatra League. On Wednesday morning, members of Dhamrai Police Station arrested Babli from Nayabari in the Savar municipality area.
Atiqur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Dhamrai Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
Several incidents of cattle theft occurred at different times in Dhamrai and several cases were also filed against her, the OC said.
During the investigation of the cases, it was found that Babli used to keep the cows in her custody and sell those, he said.
In This regard, Dhaka District North BCL President Saidul Islam said, that Babli is the female student affairs secretary of my unit.
“I don’t know about it. if the allegations are proven, organisational action will be taken against her, he said.”
