Nephew gets life for killing uncle

A court in Lalmonirhat has ordered life imprisonment and one year more of rigorous imprisonment to the nephew Sohle Rana for killing uncle Abdul Malek (45) . In the same verdict, the court acquitted the other accused in the case, Moinul Islam.
Judge Mizanur Rahman of Lalmonirhat District and Sessions Judge Court announced the verdict recently. The convict Sohel Rana (20) is the son of Abdul Khalek of Doani Pittifata village No. 2 of Hatibandha upazila of the district.
It is known from the source of the case that on the night of 26 September 2021, nephew Sohail Rana killed uncle Abdul Malek with a hammer at around 8 pm in Doani Pittifata village. Sohail Rana killed his uncle in anger at the sarcastic remark that he was handicapped.
Abdul Malek’s father, Abdul Malek, who was killed in this incident, filed a murder case at Hatibandha Police Station as the plaintiff.
Then the police arrested the accused Moinul Islam (45). Later, as per his statement, accused Sohail Rana was arrested. Sohail Rana made a confessional statement in the court under section 164.
Babu Mia, the brother-in-law of the deceased Abdul Malek, said that the trial process of the case was completed within a short period of time. We are satisfied with this verdict, because the accused boy has planned this murder.
