7 get Bangladesh Press Council Award

Five journalists and two organisations have been given the Bangladesh Press Council Award-2022 in different categories.
In recognition of the role of newspapers, Bangladesh Press Council has awarded journalists and photojournalists for preparing investigative and creative reports and photos.
Information Minister Hasan Mahmud, who was present as chief
guest, handed over the awards in a ceremony held on the Department of Films and Publications (DFP) premises in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Renowned journalist and Editor of The Daily Sangbad Bazlur Rahman received lifetime honor (posthumous) award 2022, while The Daily Jugantor and The Daily Purbanchal of Khulna have been awarded in the ‘institution category’.
Sonagazi Correspondent of the Daily Bhorer Kagoj Syed Monir Ahmad in ‘rural journalism category’, Senior Reporter of the Bangla Tribune Md Shahedul Islam (Shahed Shafiq) in ‘development journalism category’, BTV Reporter Tulona Afrin Begum in ‘women journalism category’ and Staff Photo Journalist of The New Age Md Sourav Laskar in ‘photo journalist category’ got the award.
Among others, Chairman of Bangladesh Press Council Justice Nizamul Huq Nasim, Press Council Member Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Agriculture Ministry Begum Matia Chowdhury, Additional Secretary of the Information Ministry Faruk Ahmed and Bangla Academy Director General Poet Nurul Huda attended the award giving ceremony.
