2 dead in Khagrachhari Hill District Council roof collapse

At least two workers were killed, and eight others were injured after the roof of the under-construction Khagrachhari Hill District Council building collapsed on Saturday.
The roof of the building collapsed at around 4pm, killing 22-year-old Sajjad Hossain on the spot.
Meanwhile, another worker, who is yet to be identified, succumbed to his injuries while being treated at Khagrachhari District Sadar Hospital.
The other injured are also receiving treatment at the same hospital, Fire Service and Civil Defence official Rajesh Barua and Hill District Council authorities told the media.
The fire service official said a part of the parking shed on the ground floor of the four-storey new building had collapsed.
Fire Service and Civil Defence, police, Bangladesh Army, and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society members conducted a rescue operation, suspecting more people might be trapped inside.
