Ctg Port advisory body meet ends without decision

The 9th meeting of the Chittagong Port Advisory Committee was held at Chittagong Port Training Centre yesterday afternoon.
Ports and shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan MP presided over it. Among others city AL president and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former chamber President MA Latif MP , Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury MP, Ctg Chamber Presiden t Mahbubul Alam , President of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Khalilur Rahman, CPA Chairman Rear Admiral Nizamuddin and the senior officials of Chittagong Port Authority were present in the meeting.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Shipping and Minister Shahjahan Khan MP delivered address of welcome on the occasion.
The meeting discussed the matters of Karnaphuli dredging, private terminal operator , NCT operation and irregularities in NCT and CCT operations .
In the meeting, City AL president and Convenor of Bandar Rakkha Parishad ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury placed 13-point proposals about the irregularities in transacting of Tk.305 crores for purchasing different equipments including lighter vessels for Pangaon ICD but the the meeting ended without any decision.
Mentionable that after 30 minutes of starting the meeting proceedings , the attended journalists of print and electronic media in the meeting barred from covering the meeting with lame excuse of press briefing after conclusion of the meeting. The meeting continued till writing this report.
