Only zoo in Ctg division facing closure

The only zoo of Chittagong Division and third biggest one of the country Foy’s Lake Zoo is on the way of ruining gradually due to negligence of the authority .
The visitors become fraustrated when they access in the Zoo premises. There are 370 animals and birds o 67 species in records of the Zoo but in fact most of the major animals are absent including Tigers of different species . Due to absence of tigers, the visitors of the Zoo became annoyed and never turns again. On the other hand , there are two female kids of Lion named Nova and Barsha are passing days without male mate.
Zoo authority informed the matter to higher authority to provide male Lion to accompany the female mate but authority yet to be taken any steps, zoo management sources said. A visitor told this correspondent that the children become dishearted not seeing the tigers . It is learnt the only female Tiger ‘Purnima’ was died on October 30, 2012 due to her old age complications but no replacement yet to be made.
