Razakar Siraj slashed me despite begging, says PW

UNB, Dhaka :
Sailendranath Das, a prosecution witness (PW), on Thursday accused his teacher Sirajul Huq of hitting him with a machete during the Liberation War on May 13, 1971 at Ranjitpur, Bagerhat, leaving him critically wounded.”During the horrendous attack, Razakars, numbering 150, had also committed plundering in houses before burning those down,” recalled Sailendranath, now 70, before the International Crimes Tribunal-1 while testifying against accused Sirajul Huq, deputy Razakar commander of Bagerhat, as PW-2.
Sirajul Huq faces trial along with his two accomplices for reportedly killing 50-60 Hindu people at Ranjitpur.
Corroborating the evidence of PW-1 Dilip Das, a Liberation War hero, Sailendranath told the tribunal, “Despite plea, my teacher at Sayera Madhudia High School didn’t hesitate to hit me with his machete from the shoulder down to the belly.” “Accused Siraj had also knifed to death my first cousin, Gobinda Chandra Das, in front of me as he fell down after having hit by a rifle butt.”
