A security guard of a booth named Mujibur Rahman (53) was hacked and seriously injured when he tried to resist the attempt of looting money from the ATM booth of Islami Bank at Kakrail.
Almost At that time, police also arrested an youth named Hasibul Hasan (24) while he was fleeing the spot.
The incident took place at Kakrail at around 4 am on Tuesday. Victim Mujibur Rahman was first taken to a private hospital. He was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) for better treatment.
Meanwhile, security in-charge Abdul Mannan said that Mujibur Rahman was stabbed in the stomach and head when he prevented the robber from robbing the ATM booth..
As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College & Hospital. He had surgery in his head and chest. At present Mujibur is admitted in ward number 101. Her condition is critical. The robber was also arrested by the police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Paltan Police Station Salauddin Mia confirmed the incident to the media saying that the accused Hasibul was arrested while he was fleeing.
At this time various domestic weapons including knife and hammer were seized from him. The OC further said that the arrested Hasibul Hasan initially admitted the truth of the incident. A case has been filed against him with the Paltan police station.
