Rajib Chakma wins silver in Bangabandhu Gymnastics

Rajib Chakma of Bangladesh won silver medal in the men’s junior singles floor exercise of Bangabandhu 5th Central South Asian Gymnastics Championship at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday. Rajib 12.100 score to achieve the third medal for Bangladesh. Boysarov Alishar of Uzbekistan bagged the gold medal in this event scoring 12.500 on the same day.
Pronob Koushala of India earned bronze medal in this event scoring 12.067 on the same day.
Bangladesh collected total three medals including yesterday’s silver medal in this competition.
Bonofuli Chakma of Bangladesh earned bronze medal in the women’s individual vaulting table event scoring 12.42 on Friday last.
On the first day (Thursday) Bangladesh gymnasts won bronze medal in the men’s junior all around team event. The members of Bangladesh team are-Rajib Chakma, Pronthoi Mro, Sajid Haque and Abu Sayeed Rafi. They scored 196.50 to earn the first medal for Bangladesh in this gala gymnastics meet.
In the last event of the first session of the day, the Uzbek gymnast won the gold medal in the men’s junior horizontal bar also. Vyasarov Alish won the gold with a score of 12.46. India’s Pranav Kushwaha won silver with a score of 12.00 and another Uzbek competitor Inomov Izzatilla won bronze with a score of 11.96.
Ahmedur Rahman Bablu, General Secretary of Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation, Nazrul Islam, Coach of National Team and Anthony Diaz, Head of Delegate of Sri Lanka team handed over the medals to the winners later.
